Microelectronics R&D Centre of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (MECCAS) was formed by merger of former 109 Semiconductor Factory(established in 1958, first in China) and the Microelectronics Division of the Institute of Semiconductor, both of the Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS) in 1986, and then was formally renamed the Institute of Microelectronics of CAS(IMECAS) on September 2003.
