On October 27, Dr. Simon Deleonibus from the Electronic Nanodevices Laboratory of CEA-LETI visited the Institute of Microelectronics of Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMECAS).

With Prof. Ming Liu's arrangement, Dr. Simon Deleonibus delivered a lecture entitled “Towards Full 3D, Zero Variability and Zero Power Future Micro/Nano-Electronicas” and hosted by Associate Prof. Long Shibing, the vice director of Lab of Nanofabrication and Novel Device Integration Technology. There were more than 30 attendees of local professionals and graduate students.

Dr. Simon Deleonibus thought that in the future, the reduction of drastic power consumption would request less energy greedy device, interconnect, computing technologies and architectures. The challenging exponentially growing of electronic market and new societal needs for Autonomous and Mobile systems requested a drastic reduction towards Zero Intrinsic Variability, Heterogeneous and 3D integration at the system level. Due to maximizing Energy Efficiency, the High Performance CMOS and Memories’ contribution to the energy saving balance at system level became realistic goals. The new points of his research on the low power made a big splash and reached a wide discuss.

After the lecture, a symposium was held between Dr. Simon Deleonibus and the attendees. Both sides introduced their recent works and had an effective discussion.
