Professor Xu Hongqi, Lund University, Sweden, Visits the Institute of Microelectronics, China Academy of Sciences

At the invitation of Mr. Liu Ming (Research Fellow), Director of Micro-Processing and Nanometer Technology Laboratory, Professor Xu Hongqi, Mesoscopic Physics and Devices Research Group, Physics Department, Lund University, Sweden, paid a visit of our institute on June 29, 2009. Professor Xu Hongqi, during his visit, delivered a technical speech entitled “Semiconductor Ballistic Junctions: New Building Blocks for Functional Devices in Nanoelectronics” and had a deep communication with the teachers and students on the scene. After the meeting, Professor Xu Hongqi had a visit to the Nanometer Processing and New Devices Integration Technology Laboratory of our institute.
Professor Xu Hongqi graduated from Physics Department of Dalian University of Technology in 1982, earned a Doctorate from Lund University, Sweden in 1991and now is Professor of Physics Department in Lund University, Sweden. Professor Xu Hongqi is a member of Engineering Physics Committee, Swedish Research Council, the scientist appointed by European Scientific Research Project Establishment and Evaluation Council and a member of Steering Committee of European Science Foundation Program EPSD. Professor Xu has been engaging in many scientific research projects both in Sweden and Europe and has been serving as an honorary professor in many world famous universities and institutes.
The main research field for Professor Xu Hongqi covers experiment and theory study on electricity and optics properties of Nano-structure, quantum phenomena in delivery of substance electricity, Nano-electronic devices and spin electronic devices, etc.; and Professor Xu, who has released over 120 papers, delivered conference reports of more than 180 times and obtained two international patents, also is a peer reviewer for more than 30 international publications of the related field, including Phys. Rev. Lett., Appl. Phys. Lett., Nature, Natural Materials, Nature Photonics, Nano Lett., IEEE Eelctron Dev. Lett.
